Oral Cavity Protective Device
EpiGuard™ is a protective device for the oral cavity of epileptic patients that aids in preventing agonizing and destructive damage to tongue and cheeks during seizures. JBDesign developed an innovative solution based on a silicone spring principle, complying with a strict requirement: epileptic patients can sense a seizure 5 seconds before it occurs, and within that time frame they must be able to swiftly access the device and easily insert it into the oral cavity.
During the development stages we tested our models with potential users in order to achieve maximal fit and ease of use.
